About Jessica:
Jessica is a strengths-based therapist that believes progress begins when you feel safe to show up just as you are. She will help you set and strive towards achievable goals. Identifying negative thought patterns, becoming more attune to one’s own internal body cues, and mindfulness techniques are examples of skills you can expect to gain in working with Jessica. The basis for your work together will be a strong therapeutic relationship.
Jessica has 15 years of experience as a School Social Worker, and over 7 years of experience as a Clinical Therapist.
Areas of interest include:
Anxiety and stress management
Nervous system and emotional regulation
Helping kids/teens and neurodivergent individuals gain confidence in social settings
Helping kids/teens acquire independence skills such as coping and executive function skills
Helping kids/teens become attuned to, and celebrate, their unique neurodivergent needs
Helping parents and families understand and advocate for the unique needs of their neurodivergent family member
Helping families navigate the 504 plan and IEP processes within schools
Collaboration with other providers to wrap your child/teen in a network of support
Creating safe spaces for non-binary and transgender clients
Jessica’s practice is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Social CBT, Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness techniques including yoga, visualization, and deep breathing.
Jessica earned her Masters in Social Work degree from Jane Addams College of Social Work at UIC, and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and English from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Outside of the office Jessica spends time with her family of four (six with pets included!). Music, yoga, a quiet hour with a novel, family movie nights, and time spent in nature are a few of her favorite things!
